In 2012, Miffy Jones launched a small business out of her home. Miffy's Foods, are muffin mixes made with high quality ingredients.
After the first year, the packaging of the mixes became a major concern. It needed to immediately tell shoppers they had a boutique brand in their hands, and the budget stand-up kraft box Miffy had been using wasn't upscale enough to convey that message.
"It had to be heavy enough, but not too heavy that it was rigid; it had to feel great in my hands," she says. "I need consistent color, beautiful printing, and something that feels natural and high quality."
Miffy's new branding consultant, Sally Morrow of Sally Morrow Creative, did a lot of research and had a lot of samples to go through. But when Miffy saw and felt Neenah's ENVIRONMENT® Papers in Desert Storm, she was thrilled she could choose from a variety of weights. She landed on a heavier weight that could be converted to a box application. The package stands out on the shelves in high-end supermarkets she targets. The color of the paper and the way it prints are consistent. To keep her brand consistent, she uses ENVIRONMENT Papers for her bags, envelopes, letterheads, and business cards. "Some people ask me why I didn't just go budget on the cards," she says. "But it matters. Not everyone notices, but the people who notice, notice. Neenah's color matching and print quality are important as she ponders expanding her line.
And once that shopper gets home? "I want her to feel a little sad that she's throwing such a beautiful package in the recycling."
