We're focused on energy and water conservation efforts through clean manufacturing initiatives such as our commitment to using renewable energy and reducing our environmental footprint with improvements to our transportation processes with membership in the EPA SmartWay program.
Neenah is committed to using conservation best practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water usage.
Water Conservation
Due to the very high quality achieved through efficient water treatment systems, our mills have the unique opportunity of being able to recycle and reuse fully treated effluent back into our process to minimize freshwater draws. Our policy is to return the water used in this green manufacturing process at a quality level that doesn't negatively impact the receiving environment. To ensure that this goal is achieved, all Neenah mills that have process water treatment plants meet rigorous performance standards that go beyond regulatory compliance.Renewable Energy
Our consumption of renewable energy includes steam from co-generation of electricity, hydro-generated electricity and purchased renewable power and we continue to explore new sources of renewable energy.
