Crane Goes Postal at Smithsonian
Visitors to the Smithsonian National Postal Museum for the opening of the exhibit Alphabetilately in September walked away with a remarkable keepsake commemorating the Museum’s 15th anniversary. Encased within a sturdy die-cut envelope (a work of art in itself) visitors found the “Absolute Best Cotton Deluxe Envelopes Fancy Guide” describing in beautifully letterpressed detail all about Crane envelopes from neat and petite No. 4 to Baronial and Marquis. Crane was a major sponsor of the opening, along with Dauphine Press of Petaluma, Calif. The envelope folder paper is Crane’s Palette 365 gsm Azure. The enclosed Guide was printed on Crane Lettra 300 gsm Pearl White. Design and Printing were accomplished by Dauphine Press, specializing in “Custom letterpress for life’s extraordinary events.” All the copy was written by Alyson Kuhn from kuhncierge.com in Napa, Calif. |
